Are you due to graduate this summer with a 2.1 degree or above in a STEM subject? Would you like the opportunity to put your mathematical skills into real-world practice? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

This exciting opportunity is perfect for an enthusiastic and numerically minded graduate to join our International Pricing team in Cardiff. As an International Pricing Analyst, you'll be responsible for providing support and advice to our businesses worldwide to determine the most competitive prices for our insurance customers. Graduates in the International Pricing team get involved in everything from running pricing models using statistical tools, understanding the numbers within those models, and ultimately making proposals for improvements to our products' rating structures.

What to expect from this role?

Our overseas operations have ambitious growth plans, and from the start you will be involved in this. As a team, we constantly think about sharing best practices, thinking about innovation, and using knowledge and experience in one country to improve our pricing and processes in other countries. You will develop into a consultative and advisory role to support our international operations and will be required to build strong relationships with our colleagues and teams overseas.

We are proud that our department has a strong tradition of being very focused on training analysts from all over the group. We have a wide group of experienced managers for you to learn from, and you will receive exposure to plenty of high-level decisions across our international businesses. As you gain confidence within your role, you will also have the opportunity to share your new-found knowledge by supporting, coaching and mentoring new analysts.

Why should you consider this role?

  • You enjoy working with numbers and findings insights in data
  • You are highly motivated and can work off your initiative
  • You are comfortable communicating and collaborating with stakeholders across a range of business areas

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 2.1 or above in a mathematical discipline
  • The ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers with common sense and imagination
  • Commercially aware, with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with programming packages like SAS and SQL, although further training will be provided

Please note, this is a permanent role in the International Pricing department as opposed to a rotational graduate programme. If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please click "apply now" to complete an online application form.

Please also note, while this role is based in our head office in Cardiff, due to the impact of COVID-19, it's likely that you will initially be required to work from home, with your initial training taking place using online collaboration tools. However going forward, we anticipate that this role will allow you to work partially remotely on a more permanent basis.
