"We have an opportunity for a Graduate Data Analyst to join one of our cross-functional teams to help fulfil our data and analytics team's reporting needs.
The role sits within a rapidly growing DevOps team made up of Developers, Engineers, and Analysts inside the Advanced Analytics department. Our focus is on exploring and developing new technologies and data sources to further increase Admiral's pricing and analytics capabilities. You will have a chance to significantly impact our success by building the reports and dashboards to support this, working closely with our Pricing and Analytics departments, across both Household and Motor product lines.
Main Duties
You will be part of a multi-disciplined team, developing and maintaining a cloud data platform, with a primary focus on creating reports and dashboards to service our data support departments. This will include:
- Developing, implementing and integrating new reports and dashboards using our chosen reporting tool, Looker, and in our custom-built Pricing portal
- Maintaining existing ETL process from our current data sources
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our Pricing and Analytics departments enabling you to identify areas and opportunities for development and efficiencies
- Take responsibility for customer departments reporting needs, liaising with them, and other relevant stakeholders
- Support in the training and onboarding of users to the suite of tools and reports set
You will also be expected to research new ideas, stay up to date with new advancements in the field, and support other responsibilities such as data provisioning and our ETL pipelines within the team when needed.
About you
The successful candidate will:
- Have a bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- Be an enthusiastic, numerically minded person that can think creatively around a brief and challenge, as necessary
- Have a keen interest in programming and analytics
- Have excellent problem-solving skills and be ready to research and learn new techniques that can be applied to the task
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team while delivering to agreed timelines in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Have experience with a programming language, ideally SQL, SAS, R, or Python
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have strong problem-solving skills, with a desire to learn and take on new tasks
- Be comfortable challenging current practice
