Data Analyst

The data platform created in the Cloud by the DnA programme is now the backbone of our data strategy. Over the next few years, we will be migrating our data and analytics workload to the platform, and we are looking for Data Analysts to kick start this journey with us.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to help us start building out our data pipelines and reports.

The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic numerically minded individual, that has a keen interest in data and can think creatively around a brief, as necessary. You must have a keen interest in programming, analytics and data, be excited to cross skill, have good problem-solving skills and be ready to research and learn new techniques that can be applied to the task at hand.

We work in an Agile fashion and are looking for someone who can work independently as well as part of a diverse team, whilst delivering to agreed timelines in a fast-paced and changing environment. Training will be offered on any new technologies or area.

Main Responsibilities

You will be part of a multi-disciplined team, building a cloud data platform, spanning better data and better tooling.  Across the tribe you may get involved in:

• Developing reports and dashboards to enhance and replace existing reports using new reporting tools including Looker and our in-house portal
• Developing an in-depth understanding of our Pricing and Analytics departments, enabling you to identify areas and opportunities for development and efficiencies
• Becoming an effective point of contact for other departments to collaborate, discuss business problems and potential solutions
• Assisting and supporting with training and onboarding new users to the tool set and managing the change created by a new way of working
• Maintaining existing ETL processes from our existing data sources
• Reconciling our data in the cloud back to source systems and develop tools and code to make the process more efficient

Desirable Skills & Experiences

• Experience with a programming language ideally SQL, Python, R or Java
• Experience working in GCP
• Experience working with Big Data, preferably in the field of insurance
• A genuine interest in Data and Analytics and driving forward our capability in the field
• Strong numeracy and problem-solving skills
• Curious mindset with a desire to explore and learn about new tools and tech
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
