The Role:

We are looking for a developer to work on two of the most ground-breaking projects Admiral has ever undertaken, which will help shape the future of how data is processed in Admiral for years to come. You will work on a small team dedicated to developing pipelines to land data in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It is required to be structured for use by many areas of the business, including consumption by a market leading BI tool.

Your responsibilities will include:

• To work within the Scrum framework
• To work with stakeholders from the business to design and deliver data solutions that help provide insight
• Work alongside a talented team consisting of Data Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Testers, a Scrum Master and a Product Owner.

What we're looking for:

• You will be expected to develop code within a collaborative environment to a consistently high standard.
• We’re looking for someone with technical experience in a similar environment. Ideally, you’ll have an education background in a STEM subject or strong A-Level results in Maths, IT or Science.
• Communication! We like to see people communicating and making things happen. We promote an open, honest and diverse culture where you can be yourself. You’ll need to communicate in quite a few different methods to staff at all levels including peers, management teams and senior management teams.
• You’ll be juggling multiple tasks and projects, so prioritisation is important.
• Experience of working in an Agile environment is vital.
• We want someone who is passionate about continuous improvement and with innovative ideas to keep us evolving and pushing our team forward.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is ideal, but experience of a Cloud based virtualisation area is essential.
• Working knowledge and experience with Terraform to build and maintain the platform and the environment.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

• Further programming experience with either Java or Python
• Scripting experience
• Experience working with command line in Linux, windows Powershell, bash
• Knowledge on networking and firewalls
• Experience with Azure DevOps to deploy pipelines and store repositories.
